Chapter 3: Part II
Javaughn:
"I mean… to have a beautiful woman like you by their side and for her to have their child too. I’d be blessed." I said with all seriousness.
"Well, let’s just say some people are more grateful than others." She said looking up at me. In her eyes you could tell that there was more to the story. I would ask her what happened but, I’ll save that for another time.
“So…. when does the walking begin to start?” She asked referring to the text I sent her earlier.
“Right now actually.” I said starting up the car again and backing out from the parking space. As I focused on the road I could see Amaya looking out the car window. I turned the radio up a bit so it wouldn’t be awkward. I could tell she was only quit when we’re driving in the car. I wonder why.
“So how come you’re quite when I start driving?” I asked looking at her then back to the road. I made a turn then headed to Los Angeles beach, hopefully it wouldn’t be crowded. It was only eleven thirty anyway.
“I’ve had bad experiences in a car. I tend to be quiet so I won’t distract the driver.” She said looking out the window.

Amaya:
I had gotten a text from Chrishelle saying that she put Cameron to bed in the second quarter of the game so I guess she was watching it too. I can’t believe that Javaughn paid court side seats for our date. Even though the Thunder won, I’m still mad at the fact that West brooks couldn't score any three pointers tonight. I looked up from my phone to see we were at the beach. I looked to my left but Javaughn wasn't in the car. As soon as I was about to open my door Javaughn had beat me to it. I got out without my bag and he grabbed my hand leading us to the paved walkway. I guess this is where all of the walking will be done.
The beach wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be which I liked. I really don’t like crowded beaches anyway. We were slowly walking to who knows where but I wouldn't be bothered if we weren't going to a specific destination.
“You know you look great tonight.” Javaughn said grabbing my attention. I looked down at my outfit and wondered what I looked like through his eyes. I mean I’m wearing jeans and a tank top.
“Thanks, but I really didn't put much effort into it.” I said looking up to his face as we kept walking.
"Your kicks are nice too."
"Thank you Javaughn…" I smiled.
He grinned at me.
"What?" I giggled.
"It's just you say my name so sexy."
I just laughed not knowing what to say to him.
“Javaughn, what do you do? Like, what's your major.. Like how do you afford that Audi you're just in college...?” I asked stopping in my tracks. I wanted to know what he did, because owning an Audi is a lot of money. I’ve already been through enough trouble, I don’t need anymore.
“I hope you don’t sell drugs. Because I don’t-"
“Woe woe woe, relax ma. Why you talking so fast?" He said lightly touching my arm. I looked up from his face down back to his hand that was on my elbow. I repeated my question again hoping he would answer it. He took a deep breathe and removed his hand off of my arm.
“My dad is a graphic marketing executive, He owns his own business. I help him design shops, clubs, restaurants, all that stuff. That's where all the money comes from he said looking into my eyes.
“And I definitely don’t sell drugs. I wouldn’t want to put my family in that type of danger.” I nodded my head and we started to walk again. He asked me what my major was and I told him Sports and communications.
“I ain’t trynna be rude ma, but how do you afford a Range, Giuseppe’s, and a house payment do you work?" He asked me with a confused look on his face.
"My dad used to play for the Atlanta hawks way back in the 90's... After he retired he went into sports marketing, you know drafting people to specific teams and basically managing them... He owns about six practices from Atlanta to here and I work as a receptionist at the one downtown."
I said looking into his eyes.
"That's pretty cool, so do you want to take over the one here?"
"Yeah eventually but my dad wants me to get a degree for it first."
A strong gust of wind passed by us causing me to clutch onto my arms. I began to get cold. Rubbing my hands up and down my forearms didn’t help with the goose bumps either.
“Here, I know you’re cold.” Javaughn said while taking off his jacket putting it over my shoulders. I slipped my arms through the sleeves and said thank you. The jacket was warm and smelled so good.
“Now what about your parents? Where are they?” He asked me.
“You ask a lot of questions, don’t you think?” I said to him chuckling at the end of my sentence. He laughed a bit and smiled.
“I only ask a lot of question when I’m interested into something or in some cases, someone.” He said putting a smirk across his face.
"Well they live here in Cali but my dad is always in Atlanta because that's where the original office is.. What about yours?"
"They're in Michigan that's where I'm from."
"Really I've always wanted to go there."
"You should let me take you sometime."
"Yeah we'll see." I smiled.
I bit my bottom lip to keep from blushing but that didn’t do any justice. I guess he saw my cheeks getting red. To make it even worse he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into him. With my arms wrapped around his torso, he lightly placed a kiss on my forehead.

We were pulling into my driveway around one o’clock in the morning. We had left the beach at around 12:40. While we were there Javaughn had gotten us ice cream.
“Thanks for taking me out tonight, I had a great time.” I said smiling while I was trying to find my keys in my bag. I found them and pulled them out shoving them into the door lock.
“No problem ma, I did too. But I would love to take you out again.” He said to me. I turned the key to the right which unlocked the door and turned to him.
“I would love that.” I said looking up to him. I turned back around and pushed my door open to a dark hallway. He walked up to me and kissed me on my cheek and said goodnight. I replied with a good night as well and he walked away. Before he got out of my sight, I had remembered I still had on his jacket.
“Wait Javaughn! …Your jacket.” I said trying to take it off. He turned back around and shook his head.
“Keep it baby.” He said with a small smile on his face. He turned back around and walked back to his car. I walked into my house and shut the door, locking it behind me. He called me baby? I guess I upgraded from ma huh? I chuckled to myself and headed up the stairs to go to sleep.
I walked past Melanie's room and saw her door closed.
"Mel?" I said knocking on her door and walking in..
"Ahhhh!" She yelled.
"Oh shit I'm sorry babe goodnight." I said shielding my eyes and closing her door. I walked to my Cameron's room to see him sleep in his bed. I kissed his forehead and then walked back towards my room. I changed into my pajamas and laid in bed on my phone. Shit I can't believe Melanie is fucking Corahn already. I made a mental note to ask her about it in the morning, then said my prayers, and went to sleep.
