Chapter 15: Part II
Amaya:
I sat at the restaurant table with my parents, Cameron and Mel. I saved three seats for Chrishelle, Javaughn and Corahn. I was a little annoyed that Chrishelle hadn't showed up to the graduation but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and hoped she'd be at the dinner. Once the waitress took our drink orders Javaughn and Corahn walked towards the table.
"Hey guys." I smiled hugging them both.
"Sorry we're late.. you know that traffic was bad." Javaughn said kissing my forehead.
I nodded. "Come on I want you to meet my parents." He smiled and I grabbed his hand and led him to sit down.
"Mom... Dad, this is my boyfriend Javaughn."
"Oh baby we met him at the graduation." My mom said sipping her water and smiling.
"Oh... well I thought I'd introduce y'all the right way."
My parents nodded. "It's nice to meet you again Javaughn." My dad said. "Where are you from?"
"Michigan, sir."
My dad chuckled. "You've graduated already?"
"No I go to USC we actually graduate next week."
"Ahh, I have a friend who teaches there."
"Oh really?"
My dad nodded. "Professor Wilcox do you know him?"
"Oh yeah he was my business teacher before I switched majors."
"What's your major now?"
"Marketing and graphic design."
"Oh that sounds fun."
"It is, my father owns a graphic design company that I'm going to be taking over soon."
"That sounds like Amaya she'll be taking over my sports management company out here in LA next week or so."
I smiled thinking about the job, I was starting to become really excited.
"She's told me about that."
They continued to talk for a while before the waitress took our food orders.
We all ate conversing individually.
"Is Chrishelle coming Amaya?" My mom asked.
"I invited her...she said she would be here ma, but she's not." I sighed.
"I really wanted to see her, since I haven't in a while." My mom frowned.
I nodded agreeing.

Melanie:
I was seated in the chair in between my dad and Corahn.
"You can't ignore me all night, especially with my child in you." Corahn whispered as I cut into my baked chicken.
"You better stop talking to me before I use this knife on something other than this damn chicken." I whispered back.
He giggled like a teenage boy. "Oh Mel you're funny, but I don't care what you say we're talking after dinner."
I sighed because I knew he was right I didn't want to talk to him but we needed to.
I finished my dinner and nudged Corahn in the ribs. "You wanna talk now or what?"
He nodded and we slipped out to the front door while everyone else ordered desert.
"So how is it out in ATL?"
"Fine."
"Mhm. So you really aren't coming back till what July?"
"Yeah maybe. I might stay there forever I don't know yet."
"You can't stop me from seeing my child."
"I'm not...you can see them whenever, but it's not guaranteed that I'm moving back here."
"Melanie for real? Can we just stop all this hostility and attitude we have toward each other. We gotta at least get along for the baby. I don't want you out there stressed, hurting the baby."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah Corahn you're totally right, we do need to get along, but that still doesn't mean I'm moving back here."
"But I want to be here for you and the baby, I want to be at those doctors appointments, I want to be the one to run out and get you food at 2.a.m. when you're having those weird cravings, like ice ream and pickles." He smirked. "I wanna be there for you Melanie. I know I fucked up but it's reality now for both of us because you're having my baby. Melanie I know it might be weird to say or hear but I love you, you're the mother of my child how could I not love you...I just want to make you happy, yeah I know it's weird to hear because we've only known each other for like what? 3 months? but I really like you, and I want to be with you, and not just for the baby but because I really like you."
I smiled holding back the tears that stung my eyes.
"Corahn I'll think about it okay? I just need some time."
"Okay I'll let you have your time." He sighed and walked back into the restaurant.
After a few minutes I followed and sat back at the table.

Javaughn:
"So what are we going to do tonight?" Amaya asked sitting on her bed. Her parents took Cameron to the park and to get ice cream an Melanie left somewhere so we basically had the house to ourselves.
"I'm not sure...What do you want to do?"
"Well there's this new club called heat, you wanna check it out?"
"Yeah we can do that. Then I got a surprise for you."
"Ooh tell me."
"Naw it's a surprise Amaya."
"Fine. Imma get dressed."
I nodded and got back under her covers since we had just woken up from a nap.
"You better not go back to sleep either." She called from the bathroom.
I groaned and started to scroll through my phone.

Chrishelle:
I sat in my living room on the couch and debated making this call. What did I have to loose? Nothing now.
"Hello?"
"Hey Corahn."
"Uhm hey Chrishelle?"
"What's up?"
"Uhm I'm confused as to why you're calling me? Can you explain what's up?"
"I just wanted to say hey...Uhm I hope we're still cool?"
"I don't think we could be cool Chrishelle." He said calmly but I knew he was getting irritated.
I sighed because I was tired of Corahn being mad at me.
"Are you with her?"
"Who?"
"Melanie."
"Uhm... Yeah actually I am."
"Why?"
"Chrishelle chill with the questions.. We're not together."
"So I'm guessing you went to the graduation."
"Uh huh."
"Oh."
He sighed. "Why didn't you come?"
"Cause I--"
"Aye Chrishelle uhm I gotta go Melanie is calling me.." He said and the line went dead.
I scoffed. How dare he?
I flipped the channel on the TV and scrolled to a specific contact in my phone.
"Yo?"
"Ty, I need you to do me a favor."
"What kind?"
"A murder."
"Bet."
